A young surgeon named Shaun, who has Savant Syndrome, works on a pediatric surgery unit. Can his inability to interact with others prevent him from saving lives? Shaun demonstrates that his exceptional medical skills are worth the danger as he negotiates the difficulties of hospital politics and interpersonal connections.
We knew there would be a wait for The Good Doctor season 7 when The Good Doctor season 6 concluded, but we had no idea it would take this long. The Good Doctor is finally making a comeback to television, so the wait is finally over.
We have some sad news to share: The Good Doctor is ending after season 7, with these last few episodes setting up the series finale.
Recap
The physicians, notably Shaun, usually work miracles at the eleventh hour, but every now and again The Good Doctor goes for the terrible conclusion. The episode made an attempt to pull a twist by having the doctors appear worn out before revealing that both babies had survived. Was anyone taken aback, though?
If Eden’s heart had restarted on screen, that twist would have been spoilt, but the way it happened felt startling. She was flatlining one moment, and then the medics declared she was alright the next. Nevertheless, Morgan’s admission that Eden was Park’s daughter also came at that point, making up for the strangeness.
The Good Doctor skillfully incorporated other subplots as well. Though it had the potential to be disastrous, Lea and Shaun’s argument over schedules ended up being a remarkably realistic story point.
Schedules can be difficult, even for neurotypical new parents. Shaun’s idea that the world would end if Steve delayed his slumber by two minutes made the situation worse.
