After a considerable wait since the release of My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission, fans are eagerly looking forward to the next installment in the franchise.

Studio Bones is hard at work on My Hero Academia: You’re Next, and according to Daiki Yamashita, the voice actor behind Izuku Midoriya, fans have every reason to be excited about the upcoming film.

In an interview with Cut Magazine, Yamashita shared his enthusiasm for My Hero Academia’s newest movie, slated for an early August debut.

“The new movie is set at the same point in the timeline as the anime, just like the previous movies, so I think it helps add to the story as you can think, ‘Wow, this was happening then!’. You can see the growth of not just Deku but all of Class A. I think it’s a movie that will remind views of the value and power of standing together to fight,” Yamashita explained.

Fans of My Hero Academia have grown accustomed to the movies being integrated into the canon storyline, a shift from the traditional treatment of anime movies as non-canon events.

This trend has been embraced by several popular franchises, including My Hero Academia and Black Clover, with manga creators like Kohei Horikoshi ensuring that the movies align with the overarching narrative.

Scheduled for release on August 2nd in Japan, My Hero Academia: You’re Next will coincide with the airing of My Hero Academia season seven.

The season commenced its recap run in April, with the premiere set for May. For those unfamiliar with the series, the official synopsis follows the journey of Izuku Midoriya, a middle school student with dreams of becoming a hero despite lacking superpowers.

However, a fateful encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of all, offers him a chance to change his destiny.

As anticipation builds for the release of My Hero Academia: You’re Next, fans eagerly await the next thrilling chapter in the heroic adventures of Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at U.A. High School.
