Viewers first met Shin and his brave attempts to change the game in the first episode of The New Gate. After escaping the dangerous game that his favorite MMORPG turned into, Shin begins a new adventure in a different world.

New Gate Episode 1 is called The Third Truth. It explores the world of the game that has turned deadly, much like Sword Art Online.

The episode starts with a spooky prologue narrated by a storyteller, giving us a brief look of the The New Gate’s virtual world.

This game used to be just for fun, but now it’s a dangerous death game where real lives are at risk. Next, we meet Shin, the main character of the anime, as he fights the last boss in the game.

After a tough battle, Shin suddenly finds himself in the future of the game’s world. He’s set on finding a way back home when he meets a mysterious girl named Tierra.

She says she’s the apprentice of one of Shin’s side characters. Because of a curse, Tierra can’t leave a shop, and this meeting with Shin starts his adventure in this new world.

Shin heads to a nearby town, carrying Tierra’s letter of recommendation. This letter helps him get registered with the local guild easily.

At first, they’re not sure if the letter is real, but Shin’s determination and honesty convince the guild leader. The next day, Shin gets his official guild card and asks for a simple quest by gathering medicinal herbs.

But things don’t go as planned when he meets a tough monster: Skullface Jack, with a whopping level of 359.

Shin fights the monster, and when he’s having a tough time, he takes off his power limiter and fights fiercely.

In the end, he wins, and the monster’s glowing sword goes flying through the air. After the dust settles, the sword crashes into the princess’s room in the castle, breaking through the window.

Expectation

In The New Gate Episode 2, called A Little Partner viewers will meet a new character named Yuzuha.

This cute, fox-like creature was teased at the end of the last episode. Yuzuha is expected to become an important part of Shin’s adventure, maybe as a friend or helper.

In The New Gate Episode 2, we’ll probably see what happens after Shin’s fight with the Skullface Jack monster.

The monster’s sword ended up in the princess’s bedroom, and this could cause some trouble. Shin might get caught up in the consequences and it’s possible Tierra will return to help him out.
