The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 22 continued the uncertainty during Percival’s group’s peaceful arrival in Liones, focusing on dealing with the remaining hooded figure alongside Pellegarde, Melascula, and Galand.

Percival takes a backseat as the spotlight shifts to the other Holy Knights and Lancelot’s journey to confront the mysterious figure. The episode proclaims significant revelations about Lancelot and his former master, Jericho.

Jade seeks to comprehend Chion’s motives for targeting the Four Knights, especially considering their prophesized role in Arthur’s defeat.

Chion’s explanation sheds light on his cynicism, revealing his tendency to anticipate betrayal or manipulation among the Four Knights, especially regarding Tristan.

He insists his actions stem from a desire to protect Tristan from potential threats, rather than any malicious intent.

Jade criticizes Chion for being overly grim, prompting Chion to defend himself by stating he’s attempting to avoid such a perception.

Before their conversation progresses further, a Holy Knight of Camelot interrupts by infiltrating the dungeon.

Despite their attempts to fend off the intruder, the knight freezes the hall, endangering their lives. Fortunately, Guila intervenes just in time with her flame magic, saving them from certain death.

Jericho and Guila’s intense conflict

The Liones arc of Four Knights of the Apocalypse is reintroducing familiar characters such as Gowther, Meliodas, Tristan, and Lancelot, while also shining a spotlight on secondary characters like Jericho and Guila.

Jericho and Guila share a deep history dating back to the original Seven Deadly Sins, where they were close friends bonded by their shared experience of drinking demon blood and supporting each other through thick and thin.

Jericho’s journey saw her transition from being a Holy Knight for the kingdom of Benwick under King Ban and Queen Elaine to becoming a knight under King Arthur’s influence during the Grudge of Edinburgh.

This transformation prompts Guila to question what events led to Jericho’s apparent change towards darkness.

Despite Guila’s heartfelt pleas for understanding, including invoking the familial bond between Jericho and Lancelot, her attempts to reach Jericho are met with indifference.

The conflict between Guila and Jericho intensifies, with Guila tapping into her demon powers to sustain the fight.

Despite Guila’s formidable abilities and their evenly matched swordsmanship, Jericho’s mastery of ice overwhelms Guila, freezing her solid.

Jericho successfully silenced a spy for Liones

Just as Jericho prepares to deliver a final blow, Lancelot intervenes by shattering the nearly impenetrable ice barrier separating Jade and Chion from the fray.

Lancelot moved quickly, just like he did when he fought and won against the Dark Talismans. He rescued Guila, hit Jericho so hard that her chest armor broke, and told Jade and Chion to take Guila to Thetis for help.

After that, he went after Jericho into the dungeon. Jericho managed to silence a spy caught by Liones, but she also went there to find Lancelot.

Jericho’s reason for leaving is unsettling because she saw their relationship differently. There’s a big age gap between them, and Lancelot always thought of her like an older sister.

However, during the three years they spent outside of reality when he was 10, Jericho developed romantic feelings for Lancelot. This made her leave Benwick.

Lancelot is deeply shaken by Jericho’s confession and the revelation of why she joined King Arthur and Camelot. Jericho explains that Arthur won her loyalty by promising a world where she and an adult Lancelot could be together.

Lancelot is disturbed by her true feelings, leaving him paralyzed as Jericho escapes.
