The Tennessee Titans have been assertive in the free agency market, revamping their offense with notable acquisitions like running back Tony Pollard, wide receiver Calvin Ridley, and center Lloyd Cushenberry. Their focus now shifts to fortifying their defense, as reported by ESPN, with the acquisition of cornerback L’Jarius Sneed from the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the trade agreement, Tennessee is set to part with a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and exchange seventh-round picks in the 2024 draft with Kansas City. Sneed, who received the franchise tag earlier in the offseason, is said to have reached an agreement with the Titans on a new contract that will raise him to one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in NFL history.

Although the Indianapolis Colts also showed interest in Sneed, as reported by SI last week, negotiations were hindered primarily by Sneed’s pursuit of a lucrative new contract.

According to Spotrac’s market value tool, Sneed was expected to secure a multi-year deal with an average annual value of $16.3 million, positioning him as the eighth-highest-paid cornerback in the league. With the Titans boasting the third-most available cap space in the NFL, as reported by Over the Cap, they were well-equipped to finalize the deal.

According to sources, Tennessee is set to trade a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to Kansas City and swap seventh-round picks in the 2024 draft as part of the deal. Sneed, who received the franchise tag earlier in the offseason, is said to have agreed to a new contract with the Titans, one that will reportedly make him one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in NFL history.

While the Indianapolis Colts also showed interest in acquiring Sneed, according to reports from Sports Illustrated last week, negotiations stalled primarily due to Sneed’s desire for a lucrative new contract.

Based on Spotrac’s market value tool, it was projected that Sneed would sign a multi-year deal with an annual average value of $16.3 million, a figure that would rank him eighth among cornerbacks. With the Titans boasting the third-most available cap space in the league, according to Over the Cap, they were in a favorable position to finalize the deal.
