Toei Animation Releases New Dragon Ball Daima Trailer, Announces October Premiere on Fuji TV

Toei Animation has released a new trailer and visual for the Dragon Ball Daima anime, set to premiere in October on Fuji TV. This has excited fans who are looking forward to the new Dragon Ball series. The trailer and visuals give a first look at the story and characters, building anticipation for its release later this year.

Renowned voice actress Masako Nozawa will return to voice Son Goku, a role she has famously portrayed throughout the Dragon Ball series. The production team includes experienced directors Yoshitaka Yashima, known for his work on Dragon Ball Super and the Digimon franchise, and Aya Komaki, who has directed episodes of One Piece and Marie & Gali.

Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, who has previously worked on Dragon Ball Z and the Digimon franchise, is adapting the character designs of the late Akira Toriyama for animation. Additionally, Yuuko Kakihara, noted for her work on Digimon Adventure tri. and Cells at Work!, is supervising and writing the series scripts.

Akira Toriyama, the original creator of the Dragon Ball series, is credited with the story and character designs for Dragon Ball Daima.

In Dragon Ball Daima, familiar characters like Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma are depicted as younger versions of themselves. This concept is distinct from a similar storyline in the Dragon Ball GT anime, where Goku is transformed back into a child after the original series concludes.

The title “Daima,” while not directly translatable, has kanji that can be interpreted as “Evil” in English, hinting at possible thematic elements in the new series.

The Dragon Ball Super television series, which premiered in July 2015, ran for 131 episodes until March 2018. It was streamed by Funimation and Crunchyroll during its broadcast and later released on home video by Funimation.

The franchise continued with the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero anime film, which debuted in Japan in June 2022 and in the United States in August 2022. The film was screened in theaters worldwide through a collaboration between Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures.

The announcement of Dragon Ball Daima has generated significant excitement among fans of the long-running franchise. With a talented production team and the return of key voice actors, the series promises to deliver a fresh and engaging storyline while staying true to the beloved characters and themes of Dragon Ball.

As the premiere date approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating more updates and trailers to get a fuller picture of what to expect from this new anime adventure.
