Masako Nozawa is set to return to voice Son Goku. The series directors are Yoshitaka Yashima, known for his work as an animation director on Dragon Ball Super and the Digimon franchise, and Aya Komaki, who has directed episodes of the One Piece series and worked on Marie & Gali. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, who has previously worked on Dragon Ball Z and the Digimon franchise, is adapting Akira Toriyama’s character designs for animation. Yuuko Kakihara, known for her involvement in the Digimon Adventure tri. films, the 2022 Urusei Yatsura series, and Cells at Work!, is supervising and writing the series scripts. Akira Toriyama, the creator of the Dragon Ball franchise, is credited for the new anime’s story and character designs.

The series features a unique plotline where Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and other characters throughout the series become younger than usual.

This concept is distinct from a similar plotline in the Dragon Ball GT anime, where Goku reverts back into a kid after the end of the original series. While the title “Daima” may not have a specific meaning, the kanji could be interpreted as “Evil” in English.

Dragon Ball Super, the television anime series that premiered in July 2015, aired for 131 episodes until March 2018. The Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero anime film was released in Japan in June 2022 and in the United States in August 2022. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures screened the film in theaters worldwide.
