Colter Shaw, a tracking specialist who helps law enforcement solve mysteries, is the main character. Watchers are in for an engrossing story that is full of intrigue, suspense, and all the highs and lows of Shaw’s trip.

Tracker (2024) Season 1 Episode 1 Recap

In the opening moments of our encounter with Colter, it is clear that he is a guy designed to save lives when we see him trying to save a woman who is suffering from hypothermia and a broken leg in the middle of a vast desert.

The show decides to include a lot of information in those opening frames as Colter helps stabilize the poor girl, mainly for the viewers’ benefit, even though it does introduce Colter into the plot as the friendly and knowledgeable survivor he desires to be.

Colter Shaw is extremely informed about all things outdoor, but what sells the opening scene is how calm he is in the face of a perilous situation. All right, so it seems that he has to save this woman, but he’s alone, in a remote location, and not overly weighed down by medical gear.

While it would be understandable to feel a bit overwhelmed, Colter is not just understanding but also sensible. His decision to divulge his profession after pulling off the first rescue was a brilliant way to set up the story without being unduly intrusive.

Colter appears to be a good guy from the outside looking in, if a little lonely, though that’s not apparent from the screen. Join the group if you’ve ever wondered whether or not being a reward seeker is real; that’s where my thoughts automatically went.

On the one hand, if you’re doing it for the right reasons, which is brought up several times in the hour when Colter’s motivations are called into question, then it’s a noble thing.

Man must earn a living, but fortunately, there are many ways in modern society to put food on the table and a roof over your head. Colter decided to use the abilities he acquired during his difficult adolescence to assist others.
