Travis Scott’s Electrifying Return to Saturday Night Live with Playboi Carti

Travis Scott made a winning return to the Saturday Night Live stage after nearly six years. The rapper, now 32, graced the March 30 episode of the iconic sketch comedy show as a musical guest, sharing the spotlight with host Ramy Youssef, 33.

During the episode, Scott treated fans to performances of two tracks from his 2023 album “UTOPIA.”

Each performance was introduced by Youssef, setting the stage for an electrifying show. The first song, “My Eyes,” showcased Scott’s dynamic stage presence. He began the performance lying on his back within a small black structure, delivering the opening half of the song with intensity.

As the performance progressed, Scott rose to his feet, transforming the stage with flashing lights and a video of his performance playing simultaneously on the wall behind him.

The darker atmosphere gave way to an energetic display, gaining the audience with his signature style and energy.

For his second performance of the evening, Travis Scott was joined on stage by Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Terrell Carter, for the track “FE!N.”

The collaboration brought an extra layer of excitement to the stage, as the two artists delivered an electrifying performance.

Coinciding with the SNL appearance, Scott also dropped the official video for “FE!N” on the same night, adding to the buzz surrounding the track and further delighting fans with new visual content to accompany the music.

For his SNL live performance of the track, Travis Scott donned a striking ensemble featuring a black leather jacket and pants, paired with a white T-shirt underneath.

The stage was set with visuals on screens behind him, including dynamic lighting effects and flames, creating a visually immersive experience for the audience.

As the track began, Scott took center stage solo, gaining the crowd with his commanding presence.

Soon after, Playboi Carti, 27, joined him on stage, and together they delivered a high-energy rendition of “FE!N,” thrilling fans with their onstage chemistry and infectious energy.

The announcement was made during the March 9 episode, which was hosted by Josh Brolin and featured Ariana Grande as the musical guest, building anticipation for what turned out to be a memorable night of entertainment.

Most recently, Travis Scott released his highly anticipated studio album “UTOPIA” on July 28, 2023.

The project boasts an impressive lineup of featured artists, including Playboi Carti, Drake, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Swae Lee, Yung Lean, Dave Chappelle, Young Thug, Bad Bunny, SZA, Future, and more.

“UTOPIA” made a monumental debut by claiming the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, solidifying Travis Scott’s position as a powerhouse in the music industry.

Notably, all 19 songs from the album also made a splash by debuting in the Billboard Hot 100, a rare achievement that places Scott among the elite.

In fact, he joins an exclusive club as only the 15th artist in the chart’s history to accomplish such a feat.

On February 4, Scott took the stage at the Grammys, treating audiences to a memorable medley performance featuring tracks from “UTOPIA,” including “MY EYES,” “I KNOW?,” and “FE!N.”

The performance showcased Scott’s versatility and artistry, further solidifying his status as a dynamic performer.

Scott’s return to Saturday Night Live on March 30, 2024, marked a significant moment in his career trajectory.

His last appearance on the SNL stage was on October 6, 2018, shortly after the release of his critically acclaimed album “ASTROWORLD.”

During that performance, Scott delivered an amazing medley featuring “SKELETONS,” with a surprise appearance by John Mayer, and “ASTROTHUNDER,” joined by Kevin Parker of Tame Impala.

The memorable performance left a lasting impression on audiences, setting the stage for Scott’s triumphant return to SNL years later.

During the 2018 episode hosted by Awkwafina, Travis Scott made a memorable appearance in the “Late Night Battle” sketch alongside the Crazy Rich Asians star and then- SNL cast members Mikey Day, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Kenan Thompson.
