The last episode of the Unnamed Memory anime aired on Tuesday, and it announced a second season called Unnamed Memory Act.2. They also showed a teaser picture and a commercial saying the new season will start in January 2025. The anime, based on Kuji Furumiya’s romantic fantasy novel, started airing on April 9 and was streamed worldwide by Crunchyroll, except in Asia.
Unnamed Memory began as a web novel by Furumiya on his site in 2008, then moved to a larger platform in 2012. Kadokawa published the light novel in six books from 2019 to 2021 with illustrations by chibi. A manga version by Naoki Etsuma started in 2020 and wrapped up with its sixth volume in early 2021.
Yen Press acquired the English licensing rights for both the light novel and manga, with the final sixth volume of the light novel released on October 18 and the fifth volume of the manga on June 18. The series has garnered attention for its intricate fantasy world and compelling romantic narrative.
The story centers on Prince Oscar Lyeth Increatos Loz Farsas, cursed by the Witch of Silence, which prevents him from having children with any woman. After years of futile attempts to break the curse, Oscar seeks out the help of the Witch of the Azure Moon, Tinasha, housed in the formidable Azure Tower.
Overcoming the tower’s challenges, Oscar meets Tinasha, a centuries-old witch who appears as a young woman. Recognizing Oscar’s predicament, Tinasha proposes finding a suitable partner who can withstand the curse rather than removing it entirely.
Despite initial rejections, Oscar convinces Tinasha to live with him for a year to explore potential solutions. Their unconventional arrangement and Tinasha’s emergence from isolation stir interest among various acquaintances, setting the stage for further developments in their quest to overcome Oscar’s curse and navigate their growing bond.
