A week later, Ataru, Shinobu, Lum, and Ten visit Mendo, only to find him holed up in a dark room with an unexpected guest a real live octopus chilling on his head! Mendo explains his absence from school, revealing his eerie encounter with the octopus ghost.

As Mendo’s friends and associates gather around, they notice something peculiar atop his head. It turns out to be Akamaru hiding in his hair! But there’s a twist Akamaru has taken on a ghostly form, baffling everyone. Cherry, the eccentric guru, sheds light on the situation, revealing that Akamaru isn’t dead.

In Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 10, the episode starts with a funny situation at Mendo’s house. One of his pet octopi, Akamaru, goes missing, and everyone panics. Mendo even has a strange dream about an octopus ghost.

A week later, some friends visit Mendo and find him feeling down. They notice something odd there’s an octopus on Mendo’s head! Mendo explains that it’s Akamaru in a ghostly form. It turns out that Akamaru’s just hiding, not dead.

There’s a lot of confusion, with Mendo’s friends and some other characters getting involved. They try different things to help, like a staring contest and even cutting a pillow open. Finally, they find Akamaru hiding in Mendo’s pillow.

It’s a relief for everyone, and they all laugh about the silly situation. Then, the story shifts to another part where a girl in a hospital has a crush on Ataru. She’s very sick and wants to tell Ataru how she feels before it’s too late.

Meanwhile, Ataru gets roped into going on a date with a ghost girl named Nozomi. At first, Ataru is scared because he thinks Nozomi might be a monster.

But it turns out she’s just a friendly ghost. They go on a date around town, and Nozomi gives Ataru some winter clothes as gifts.

Ataru is reluctant to wear them because it’s hot outside, but he does it to make Nozomi happy. While they’re out, Ataru’s friends keep an eye on them from afar.

Eventually, Nozomi disappears as fireworks light up the sky. Ataru decides to keep the sweater Nozomi gave him as a memory of their time together.

The next day, Ataru and his girlfriend Lum visit Nozomi’s grave to pay their respects. Lum is proud of Ataru for being kind to Nozomi, even though she is a ghost. The episode ends with a shot of Nozomi’s diary, showing that she is grateful for Ataru’s friendship
