Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna, Austria, have been canceled following an alleged terror plot. On August 7, authorities confirmed the arrest of two men linked to planned attacks on major events in the city, including Swift’s scheduled shows for August 8, 9, and 10. This decision was made to prioritize the safety of the public after receiving credible threats.

The event organizer, Barracuda Music, announced the cancellation via Instagram, citing a confirmed terrorist threat at the Ernst Happel Stadium. To protect attendees, all three concerts were called off. Fans were informed through Swift’s website that ticket refunds for these shows would be processed automatically within the next 10 business days.

Among those arrested is a 19-year-old man allegedly affiliated with ISIS. Vienna State Police Director Franz Ruf and State Police Head Gerhard Purstl reported that the suspect was found in possession of chemical substances that could potentially be used to create a bomb. A second arrest was made later that day, adding to the gravity of the situation.

This incident follows a similar security scare in Germany, where a 34-year-old man was detained before Swift’s concert in Gelsenkirchen on July 17. The man had purchased a ticket but was arrested based on security tips and concerns. While Swift did not address this specific arrest publicly, she has been known to take extensive measures to ensure safety at her concerts.

Swift has previously discussed her anxieties about security at her events, particularly after incidents like the Ariana Grande concert bombing and the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting.
