At SummerSlam 2023, Ronda Rousey engaged in her final match for the WWE, signifying a significant milestone for the former UFC champion in the wrestling industry.

Rousey reflected on her experience with WWE in a recent interview, acknowledging the challenges of juggling motherhood and competing in the WWE.

“As a mother, maintaining this lifestyle is just too difficult. Rousey stated on Good Morning America, “It’s just not something we can do forever. I spent 18 months on the road with my baby.”

Almost three years after giving birth to her daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne in September 2021, Rousey made a triumphant return to the WWE by winning the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.

However, she lost her first MMA Rules bout against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam 2023, signaling the end of her stint with the WWE.

Since January of this year, Rousey has expressed her skepticism about making a comeback to WWE, particularly in light of Vince McMahon’s departure from the company. “Until there are significant improvements made to the way things are done there, I doubt I’ll return. Thus, it’s improbable,” she stated.

The wrestling career and motherhood of Ronda Rousey have been an inspiration. She is not alone, though, in juggling parenthood with a professional wrestling career. After giving birth to her first child, Roux, in December 2020 with Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch returned to the ring for SummerSlam 2021.

After a protracted 60-hour labor, Carmella—who had previously experienced a miscarriage—gave birth to her baby in November 2023. In a similar vein, Alexa Bliss and Ryan Cabrera had their daughter Hendrix in the same month.

With Rousey’s departure, a remarkable chapter in WWE history comes to a conclusion. Her influence extends beyond the wrestling arena, serving as a constant reminder of the resilience exhibited by mothers worldwide.
