Tight end Zach Ertz is set to join the Washington Commanders for the 2024 season, securing a one-year deal. This move reunites Ertz with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, who previously served as his head coach on the Arizona Cardinals.

Ertz’s last game was on Oct. 22, where he recorded three receptions on four targets for 19 yards. Following his request, the Cardinals released him a month later. Ertz briefly joined the Detroit Lions’ practice squad in January, and his contract expired at the conclusion of the season, with no appearances in games for the Lions.
